I am a designer who has found her passion in green design and materials.
WHO?
Niina Hyry, born in 1988 in Oulu, Northern Finland.
Currently living in Helsinki, Finland.
I love nature, art, cultures, space, science, learning and experimenting.
WHAT?
After my furniture and interior design studies, I found my passion in material design and continued studying at Aalto University in Contemporary Design programme. I am familiar to work in workshops and laboratories with different materials and my passion is to discover new features and applications in materials whether it is wood, ceramic, fungi or bacteria. I am always up for a challenge to design a better tomorrow for everyone.
MY DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
When designing something, it should benefit all the stakeholders that have any connection to the subject. In product design, it means smart resource utilisation, regenerative designing and observing the impact on the local ecosystem, people, animals and other species. That should be the goal in general.
